I am still an ametuer in theories (although I have read the series many times) but here goes. My brother, Pagemaster, wrote a theory on this. He said that Saidin wasn't tainted, it was the seals. They acted like a covering of evil over Saidin. Once t...

Fel mentioned removing the rubble before starting anew, or something of the sort (i don't remember exactly where). according to what someone wrote, every turn of the wheel the DO tries to get loose, and he is sealed again. LTT might be a bit insane (...

Just a quick note on Fel. There is much discussion about the sealing. Now Fel said that each time the Wheel turns the DO's prison must be whole. He did not say patched. As the Bore was drilled by Lanfear etc. in the Age before this one it was imperfe...

Ishamael wasnt always connected to the dark one . he was a male wielder of the power before he turned to the dark one . when he turned and became one of the chosen he was connected to the dark one so the taint wouldnt drive him mad.REMEMBER the male ...

We all know that the black cord stops the taint, and grant immortality by connecting the vessel of attachment to the Dark One, but is it possible it does more? Maybe it grants the use of the True Power....

I think that one of the reasons for the cords was to grant immortality, and so in a sense is what allows the DO to ressurect his forsaken. I think that those forsaken with their cords cut can't be brought back....

The first two times Rand killed him, he was back in the dreams a couple of chapters into the next book. I think that whoever's idea it was about the black cord being necessary for ressurection is right. The first time Rand "killed" him, he cut the bl...

Something is obviously stoping the male forsakens from going crazy. Maby the Black Cord works like a straw......So that they can suck up power from under the taint. I also think it sort of like a Warder bond DO can babysit the Forsakens from Shayolgu...

WE know that what is true for the DO is true for the creator. (C OP DO TP). So if bonds and oaths to the DO protect from the taint, why wouldn't bonds and oaths to the creator would stop Male channelers that aren't DF's from going madJust a thought....

From the looks of this board, most people either believe that the black cords are involved in either ressurecting Chosen or somehow linked to their Oaths to the Great Lord and their protection from Saidin. While these sound like good theories to me, ...

Maybe this will help to define the DO ability to control andresurrect Souls. At the end of the first book Rand sees his "mother" tortured by a fade. Since it's obvious Kari wasn't a friend of the dark,if it wasn't an illusion(and kari's reaction when...

Just a quick theory. It is my belief that the cord between the chosen and the dark one is similar to bonding between Aes Sedai and Warders. I can't remember his name at the moment but when the chosen in the waste has that black cord cut by Rand, and ...

Well, I guess that this theory is coming to an end. On the message board in Theoryland, someone stated that RJ said that the problem with saidin in Ebou Dar was due to the Bowl, but not the way we thought. The Bowl was used to do something that it wa...

The problem with saidin around Ebou Dar seems like it can be attributed to the use of the bowl of winds. After all it did draw on saidin. But Saidar is also unreliable in that area as shown by the damane who was crying because her channeling backfire...
