📁 Sealing the bore 👤 Runtus 📅 1998-11-07 💬 2 replies
I am still an ametuer in theories (although I have read the series many times) but here goes. My brother, Pagemaster, wrote a theory on this. He said that Saidin wasn't tainted, it was the seals. They acted like a covering of evil over Saidin. Once the seals were broken, then Saidin would be crazy free, ( although the madness already collected would stay). Anyway, once the seals were broken and then the bore was resealed, would the taint come back or would the new seals be taint free. I think that they would be taint free.

It depends, what would the 'new seals' be made of? How would they be placed? Who would place them there? Obviously the old system worked well in its major objective but indirectly is responsible for the taint. I don't think seals like those made before are the answer.

I was reading a theory about the seals causing the taint on saidin. I wondered, now if this was true why didnt it taint saidar also. I have two thoughts on this: 1 the seals were made with saidin and there for can only reach saidin. If this is true is all heart stone mad with saidin? I belive that both saidin & saidar are neaded in a link to make the substance. I know ive read more than once that the most powerful things were done using male/female links. This would mean it should taint bouth halves. leads me to: 2 We all know that saidin & saidar are different. So, what if saidar is so different that the taint cant effect it. Maybe saidar was allready cleansed. I know im really streatching but consider this idea. Also i think that the bubbles of evil Come threw the seals. Consider an animal in a cage. now the cage can hold the animal, but the sight/smell/sounds of the animal can come out. I think that in adition the taverens these seek ! <br>out all who can channel. Consider the "attack" on the salidar camp. Thanks for listning to my mindless wanderings. Until rand goes over to the dark one, WOT
