I believe that Mat will lose his eye while talking with the Aelfinn, something about "I'd give my right eye to win this one". It'd fit his style. That could also be what is meant by "giving up half the light of the world to save the world". That he would lose half of his vision, thus half the light of the world.
It'd be interesting to hear any other peoples opinions on this matter.

my brother and i have come to the conclusion that he will die at TG but his body will be intact still. the way he will live again is that the wise ones will try using the weave that they use to make near sisters first sisters. it is kinda going out on a limb but it is possible that the weave they use could restore his life.

I think there will be a fight between the taim + the black tower w/ and red ajah aes sedai that visited against rand and logain and the rest of the loyal ashaman and his loyal aes sedai. either that or there will be a ruse where it appears that logain kills rand, the dream egwene has (where logain walks over rand but he blows away or something, i cant remember) makes me believe the latter one. but the former theory sounds much more awesome.

He will get his hand back. there are a couple of ways this can happen. but i think this is how it will happen.
<br>nyn. and ela. and egw. will all link and through some miracle they will be able to create a hand that is a ter'angreal and cuendillar. i think it will kinda look like quicksilver. liquid looking untill you touch it. though it might not be 100% cuendillar, kinda like a new substance altogether.
