I beleive that in the LB, Rand will not die. However the dragon will(fulfilling the prophecies) I think that rand will create from the, one power, a dragon(as on his banner) that will be used to seal the prison. Its blood( the one power) will be used to seal the prison again. As Rand is the dragon, this also fulfills the alfinn 'in order to live, you must die', as the dragon dies.
