Rands Youth

📁 What do the colors that the ta'veren see mean? 👤 Amoleson 📅 2002-12-16 💬 5 replies
Ok this is a bit crazy but hey.
Rand, Perrin and Mat all grew up together and were born at about the same time so what if they can kind of feel each other like the Warders bond. This will progress until they can point out each other (like warders). Perrin has not had them because when was the last time Perrin actually thought of Rand and Mat.
Also does anyone have a idea to what order their ages are in.
Come on tell me what i got wrong

Post this Please
I don't know about the ages, and Rand was born in a battle far from the Two Rivers, so I would say there is more of a chance being something having to do with Ta'veren, the Pattern, and such, then a function of their growing up together. Just a thought.

Perrin does see them he's just more bothered about Faile so he doesn't pay attention.

I've always thought Mat was the youngest, but it's anyone's guess whether Rand is older than Perrin, or vice versa... I would bet on Perrin being the oldest, just because that would mirror their cycle of rebirth. The wolfbrothers were before the AOL, so order of rebirth might be Perrin/Rand/Mat.... but that's just a feeling... I don't think he actually says it anywhere.

CROSSROADS OF TWILIGHT SPOILER BELOW

Perrin does see them. In Crossroads of Twilight Perrin sees them just as Rand starts to cleanse Saidin, then the form into a picture of Rand and Nynaeve. I think that as each of them grow stronger as Ta'avren that they can feel each of the other eddies in the pattern and eventually see each other through the shifts in the pattern. I think this is how they coordinate the last battle. I think that they will all increase in thier Ta'avren strength to the point that even Mat and Perrin will have the same chance spinning that Rand has, and no matter where they go two headed sheep will follow.

Actually, I have the ages... sort of anyway. In the earlier books, moraine was not sure which one of them was the Dragon Reborn... this was because they were all born at such a close time to each other. Moraine's key clue to finding the dragon reborn was the birth date... this is pointed out several times in the early book, but also in New Spring. All three of them have to have been born in the same season, so the time difference is negligable.
