If you haven't noticed yet, most of the things that Ishameal told Rand, Perrin and Mat in their dreams were true. One time he mentions to Rand that the Aes Sedai have tried to find the Dragon Reborn by forcing it on the False Dragons and then gentling them afterwards. He goes on to name all of these men to Rand. He tries to convince Rand of being just like them, which obviously isn't true. But I do believe that it was planned from the start. Each faction of the White Tower has its own plan. I think the Red Ajah has participated in this type of scheme. Something to think about, Siuan appears to make the story up about the Red propositioning Logain to claim Dragonhood but we know that the Amyrlin has clearance for all of the history of the White Tower and all of the "hidden thing" there and she then makes a convincing story of part truth and part lie(she being stilled can lie of course). I also believe that is why the Red is so upset at Siuan and still her, ect. because they didn't know about this one and they never could put anyone close to Rand because they think "they" should personally lead the Dragon Reborn. Good thing Moraine finally broke free from those manipulating wenches. It makes you wonder what other fiascoes they have masterminded for the past thousands of years.
