Tinker's Song part dieux

In "The World of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time," it is written that the Aiel from the age of legends used to sing songs along with the Ogier to help crops, chora trees, and other magical plants grow. Seeing as how these Aiel are the ancestors of the tinkers, is it possible that the Ogier treesong and the song the Tinkers are searching for is one in the same?

Someone else recently wrote in about this. The Tinkers aren't looking for some magical song that helps plants grow. Why would they care? It is what those songs symbolized to them. Imagine if the United States was destroyed and a thousand years later a group of traveling people said they were looking for "the Statue", and asking people if they knew where they could find it. The statue was most likely destroyed and traditionally these people are looking for the peace, security, and freedom that the statue once symbolized. Such are the songs, imho, to the Tinkers.

I agree entirely with you. I think that the Da'shain Aiel lost the song and that is what the Tinkers are looking for.

I agree with this....but if the song has been forgotten...how will they know what to listen for? I think maybe Aram with the help of Perrin ans Loial who is a great treesinger will find the song and regrett all he has done and will be the biggest advocate for the way of the leaf...like reformed smokers advocate the quite smoking campaigns..Just a foot note...there is a connection there "way of the leaf and Treesingers hmmm...

While a nice thought you and many others forgetting something <br><br>from TEOTW pg(639-640) <br><br>"The Traveling People live for their songs," Loial said. "For all songs for that matter. For the search for them, at least. I met some Tuatha'an a few years back, and they wanted to learn the songs we sing to trees. Actually the trees won't listen to very many anymore, and so not many Ogier learn the songs. I have a scrap of that Talent, so Elder Arent insisted I learn. I taught the Tuatha'an what they could learn, but the trees never listen to humans. For the Traveling People they were only songs, and just as well received for that, since none were the song they seek." The point is that the Tinkers already know the treesongs and they are NOT the song they seek. Sorry, but the Tinkers will have to find their song somewhere else.
