Perrin Worthless???

📁 What good is Perrin anyway? 👤 Lews 📅 2001-05-01 💬 1 reply
C'mon pal..have you read these books? What are you talking about? Ever seen anyone kill a Fade with a hammer before?? No kidding the Asha'man saved the day at Dumai Wells. But the fact is Perrin didn't think twice about leading a MUCH smaller force against 50/1 odds. Remember the time he took a spear-sized trolloc arrow in the ribs? Then proceeded to snap the arrow like a toothpick and chop three trollocs to pieces. Yeah he is a real nobody, everybody can do that. I think Mat is great but I have never seen him take more than one trolloc at a time. Tamyrlin huh? You should set yourself a stiff penance for posting such nonsense. In the Wolf dream Perrin can see the future or what is happening at that time(sound important?). When they all ran from Aridhol in first book, do you think Egwene could have made it out of those woods on her own? The wolves/Elyas found them because of Perrin. If not, there goes the new Amyrlin to be. Who tracked Fain when he stole the Horn and Hurin was with Rand? Oh yeah, that worthless Perrin guy. Book one, read the part when they enter the Blight to find the Eye. Who's at the front hacking a way for everyone through twisted beasts and attacking trees? you bet Tammy...your boy Perrin. Think Lan could have done that? Maybe, maybe not but he was busy. Perrin did it with ease. But that was no big deal right? What happens if they don't make to the Eye in that book? I could go on and on...

:) I love posts like this. Nope, but I have seen plenty of Fades killed by the Aiel. He has the wolves, that's it. There are plenty of guys good with a weapon, more so than Perrin. Sure, heightened ability to smell has helped out. But the times he is integral to the main plot are few and far between. Mat and Rand have many more powers and many more strings attached to main plot lines. Perrin is there to do RJ's cleaning up work, but rarely becomes "important". You mentioned the few rare times he was, but I am sure if we compare Mat and Rand easily out-important him.
