The Seals

📁 Who killed Fel and why? 👤 Ian Sedgman 📅 1998-06-01 💬 1 reply
I don't know if anyone has discussed this yet but I want to mention it as I just saw the paragraph about Fel being killed by a Gholam. The two people who were researching the seals have been killed or wounded. Fel and the Aes Sedai in Cameyln (RJ emphasized that the AS's study of the seals would have to be postponed). So someone does not want Rand to know why he should break the seals. The reason is fairly obvious just look at the making of the seals. The seals are (part of/the cause of) the taint on saidin. A seal made by a circle of both men and women would probably do the job with out a taint, (my guess for the last battle is Rand and Egwene wielding the two grear sa'angreal seal the bore properly and everyone live happily ever after yada yada yada :-( So destroy the seals and you get rid of the taint (you also let the DO out completely but that has to be done before the last battle anyway.)

One of the best theories I have seen yet, but a thought...so is the effect of the madness lessened at all because some of the seals have been broken? Is will that be why Rand can hold it off?
