I think it could not of been one of the forsaken, because the words he spoke indicated that he was surprised by the person. I say Black Ajah. They would have suitable motive (DO told them to) and there was substanially more Black Ajah to risk then Forsaken. Secondly, I think that he was not killed. It said "As death took him." So therefore he was 'Taken', not killed. I am still a bit hazy on who.

1998-10-24 RJ has stated in an interview that Asmodean did die but in regards to your theory about the Black Ajah, I just thought I would point out that Asmodean sent a couple of groups of BA to many different places. We know some went to Ebou Dar, where are the rest?

1998-12-28 Caramon: I think that your idea of the Black Ajah is good and worth looking at. But about Asmo being "taken" I think not. I think this because the one character that calls himself death is Moridin. Now Moridin was not mentioned until after the Lord of Chaos. So therefor the idea of Death taking him (I think) is wrong. Now my own idea about this is that Shadar Haran was the one who killed him because he does errends for the DO. I will think up better arguments later but right now I am low on time.
