Moridin's room in POD is nearly identical to Ishamael's rooms in his several encounters with Rand, Matt and Perrin in the first three books. Ishamael had eyes of fire, prehaps an advanced stage of Sa'a in his eyes. Moridin uses the True Power as frequently as the One Power and has the Sa's in his eyes. As Ishamael, he may have failed to net Rand for the DO, but he was always the most adroit at planning and leading the efforts of the Forsaken. He may also be the "purest" of the DO's followers (disiples), having been a theologian/philosopher in the AOL, and therefore less prone to personal vengeance/vendettas, etc. The DO, seeing his lieutenants dying at Rand's hands while they are busy trying to outscheme each other, has no choice but to tighten the leash he has his forsaken on.
