Rand did not feel channeling from the man. 2. Men can sense men channeling. 3. No one can sense True Power channeling. What man have we seen that can channel the True Power? Moridin. What did the man say to Rand as he was lifting him out of the hole? Something about his plans for Rand. i.e. moving Rand to his wishes. The prologue gives more information to an obvious answer. Moridin helped Rand.

Thanks for including the quote, I think I will step over the line and agree that Moridin was Rand's mysterious helper. Although the one lingering question I still have is how did he know where Sammael and Rand were? Was he following Rand the entire time? Does he have somebody very close to Rand who knew he was going to attack Sammael that day?
