The stranger is not a man, but a WOMAN in a man's body. I give you one of the two Forsaken that were reincarnated by the Dark One after being eliminated by Rand. One, a female Forsaken reincarnated into a man's body, and the other, a male Forsaken reincarnated into a woman's body. This was their penalty for failing the Dark One. One was named Aran'gar and the other Isan'gar. If you recall, Moghedien was rescued from capture by a WOMAN who was channeling a flame of light, but Moghedien couldn't see the weave flowing from her resuer. This WOMAN was the second of the reincarnates SHE was the MAN in the female's body. Robert Jordan must be adding quite a twist in the upcoming book.
