It's So Obvious, Go Read It Again!

📁 Who helped Rand in Shadar Logoth? 👤 Carlos the Jackyl 📅 1998-06-07 💬 3 replies
It is so obvious who helped Rand that it makes me sick that no one else seems to know. If you think it was the Dark One or one of the Forsaken (in any form), you had better read ACOS again. It was Logain. Read the brief description given of him when Rand looks at him. And the reason for Rand not being able to feel him channeling is obviously because Logain has somehow found out how to mask his channeling abilities much like our favorite ladies from the Two Rivers.

I think I will have to read the description over and according to RJ's description that would pretty much end all discussion if you are right, but I think it worth noting the question then...how did Logain know what was taking place that day and then show up there in time to save his life?

I can't recall any character (even forsaken) being able to mask their channeling. The only person mentioned in the book that can do that is the unseen watcher. I would also go as far as saying the unseen watcher is Morindin and was the one who saved Rand.

You bring up a good point, although it is possible to mask your ability to channel(Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne masked Moghedien ability to channel in the Aes Sedai camp, I believe that it is called inverting the weave) but Robert what you say brings up the question...Can you mask the actual act and power itself when you channel? I don't think you can, therefore I would tend to agree with you that it could not have been Logain, although looking up the description is worth the effort.
