Cadsuane teaches Rand to not use balefire. She came down quite hard on Rand in ACoS when he used it on the mist monster. It is only a matter of time before Asha'man catch the weave (from Rand or Taim). Rand has already been taught (somewhat)- he hesitates vs. Sammy and uses spider fire instead.
