I am writing in response to the suggestion that Verin is part of a secret society of the White Tower. I think this is right on the money. Verin is part of a collection of older AS who were dedicated to helping the world survive the second coming of the Dragon. This group probably was aware of the existence of the BA, and set themselves up to counter the BA. The head ofthe group originally, I'm betting, was Gitara Moroso. It is probably the case that Moraine and Siuan were set to be made part of the group, but the Amyrlin at the time (also part of the group) was offed by the BA, and this group went into hiding fearing the BA. I also am betting that they were subtally guiding Siuan and Moiraine to find the Dragon. Verin is now simply trying to carry on the mission of this group, i.e., save the world and Rand, if possible.
