I think we need to re-evaluate the last letter from Moraine to Rand. She says to be as suspicous of Verin as he is of Alviarin. Rand even wonders to himself, why her and not Elaida. Elaida he has not trust for. Alviarin he is suspicious of, but he believes she may support him. Was Moraine trying to tell Rand that he should be wary of Verin but that she would support him? It's worth thinking about.
