I'm not used to giving outrageous theories, but this one comes close so here goes. I think it possible that the Second Mindtrap is Alanna's. The bonding could be a way for Moridin to keep tabs on Rand. Alanna seemed very relieved when she found out that she hadn't screwed everything up, maybe because moridin would be angry if she had.

1998-06-27 Interesting, outrageous(maybe), but definitely original. We all typically assume that the second mind trap has to be someone 'important' and powerful. Her bonding seemed to immediate and planned..who knows?

1998-08-03 There's no way to know if the second mind trap is Alanna's without knowing more about the bond. How much does a Warder know about what is affecting his Aes Sedai? In any case, it probably would have been easier just to have a black sister bond him.

1998-08-07 To support the Alanna theory, remember the two times Alanna vanished without a trace in the Two Rivers with Perrin. Even her Warders were worried. If she had gone on a nature hike, the Warders would have known where she had gone, but by gateway with Moridin...

1998-08-07 When Aes Sedai dissappear it gives me the creeps, I think this is a great indicator that she has something up her sleeves.
