Death Took Him

I think it is likely that when "Death" took Asmodean, it was Morridin who removed him from Rhuidian using the True Power. Asmodean probably recognized him, and knew he was finished bythe sa' in Morridin's eyes. Use of the True Power would not have been detected, nor would it have set off any traps Rand may have laid. Additionally, I don't think Asmodean is dead. I think he occupies the secondmind trap worn by Morridin. The DO has shown that he rewards those who help out Rand and his cohorts with this fate (see Moghidien), so why notdo the same for the man who taught the Dragon himself. I feel this way primarily because it seems highly unlikely that the DO would destroy one of his chosen, or even let them stay dead (see Ishamael/Osan'gar and Beidamon/Aran'gar(again, excuse the spelling). I also think, on a side note, that Morridin was the one who helped Rand in Shadar Logoth. Rand did not feel Saidin or Saidar being weaved for Balefire because it was the True Power. And when their balefires touched, the reaction was akin to a sci-fi meeting of matter and antimatter. Just a thought.

Allow that does make for quite the play on words, RJ was asked about that same idea that 'death' took him and he pretty much said no, Asmodean did die. So, yes it is possible that the DO resurrected him and that he occupies the Second Mind Trap but Morridin didn't remove him from Caemlyn.

This theory is false, because Robert Jordan has already said in interviews that Asmodean is dead. However,to specifically cite from his death scene... "His shout still hung in the air, when death took him."This last line: when death took him,... could be interpretted as Moridin (who calls himself Death) spiriting Asmo away to the D O, and reattaching him, and unshielding him, once again at Chosen status, but under Moridin's boot, like Mog.
