The reduced numbers of channelers just might have something to do with the fact that the population of the world has dropped a bit. In AoL it must have been about 5-6 billion people(as in our modern world today). In the 3.age its perhaps under 200 millions(honestly I dont know). this could explain the drop of power and numbers.
