The Aiel will be nearly destroyed during the Last Battle and the remnant of a remnent will be the ones who gave up the spear. I believe its in The Great Hunt that Moiraine says that the Dragon Reborn will destroy his people with the leaf. The Aiel that are Gui'shain and refuse to end there service are essentialy following the Tinker's Way of the Leaf.
