The golam's POV is given in the prologue to POD. He has always been ruled by someone, but now feels no pull to someone's will other than to carry out his last assignment (his targets - Elayne and Nynaeve - were already "named" and he was therefore "bound" by his nature to hunt them). I read here that his master is dead. We know Sammael is the only forsaken to have possibly expired since the golam attacked the sisters in the Rahad. It will be interesting to see what shadowspawn of his ilk will do when no one controls their reigns. This golam still relishes the ecstacy of murdering those who wield the Power.
