Just a few quick comments: I don't think Sammael used the waygate to escape Rand trapped it, remember? Sammael probably would have seen the trap andd avoided it (or else he's dead from it). I don't think he's dead, though. And even if he was cornered and Mashadar killed him: Dumb ole' Rand Balefired the part that would have eaten him. Presto: Just add Balefire and watch your very own scarred forsaken come to life. (sorry about the sarcasm I'm tired).
