Part 1
I just read somebody's theory on Olver/Gaidal. They said something about Olver going to *finnland and aging. I think this is a good thought. Olver is a good candidate for going over to *finnland, considering the fact that he loves the game Snakes and Foxes. He is travelling with Mat and Thom, two of the people that have the strongest cases for going to *finnland. Thom, because of serious foreshadowing of him rescuing Moiraine. Mat, because he probably feels that he deserves to kick som *finn ass. If Thom and Mat go to the tower, there is no way that Olver will let Mat go without him. Being the headstrong nine year old, he will probably sneak along. I'm not sure exactly how much support this gives to Olver being Gaidal, but I thought that I would put it in here. If someone else already wrote this, I'm sorry to be taking your material.
Part 2
Ok, I just had another thought. Everyone keeps saying that Olver cannot be Gaidal because of the fact that Gaidal was at the battle of Falme, during the lifetime of Olver. According to these arguements, two Gaidal's cannot occur at the same time. However, if these heroes are bound to the wheel to be spun out when they are needed, and they are bound to the horn to fight when it is blown, then wouldn't it seem possible that the horn could have been blown at any time when at least one of the heroes had been spun out by the wheel? I mean, Birgitte is walking in the real world, but it is still possible that someone may blow the Horn again to summon the heroes. (Assuming that Mat is no longer bound to it) I just thought that I would add this here to show that there is a little leeway to be played with when talking about time and the Heroes of the Horn.

1998-11-17 In regards to the first part, it is my particular position on this issue that provides for a very speculative feeling regarding Thom or Mat's entrance into the Finn world. I just don't think they will be making a little walk to the big tower and somehow enter the Finn world and win Moiraine back, it just doesn't seem likely(almost to fantastical) but of course that is my opinion on the issue. Your second point is well taken, we may get to see what does happen regarding Birgitte when Mat blows the Horn once again. Depending on what occurs then we should have a better idea of the gaidal/olver possibility.
