"...and who can know what these so-called Aiel will do." (Taim) LOC Lessons and Teachers p. 257
<br>This only goes to show that Taim is and has to be a forsaken or someone from The Age of Legends (or short after), to be able to know to call the Aiel that. Considering that RJ just declared that Taim isnt Demandred (but who knows, hes a shifty fellow), this makes it more puzzling.
<br>A page before that quote Rand observes:
<br>"A sweating pale-haired youth with blue eyes was having a hard time moving a stone into place. He kept losing saidin and the rock moved by small leaps across the ground."
<br>It might just be a random observation, but it could be a metaphor for Rand, the other blue-eyed guy, it could signify the way rand is trying to accomplish his goal of world unity, and struggling at that. (And Jordan seems to like metaphors, so.........

2003-07-30 Since we know that Taim is not Demandred, then we know that he is not one of the known Forsaken. But an accepted explanation is that he was tutored by Ishamael, and has the same contempt for the Aiel.

2004-02-15 Knowing Jordan, this character is likely to show up at some point and do something again later on, a la Pietr. So I'd watch out for that description.

2005-03-05 One possibility for the so-called comment is that they are not as savage as they are made out to be, following Rand and so forth, rather than invading and pillaging everywhere.

2005-03-06 Taim seems to know alot about history and possibly he can speak some Old Tongue. If that is so he will know Aiel means 'Dedicated'. That would be an explanation of sorts for him saying 'so called'. Rather then béing Aiel, like a Kandori is a Kandori, they call themselves 'the Dedicated'.
