Correct me if I'm wrong (or just ignore this) but Gaidal Cain is Birgette's partner, yes? I don't think Olver could be Gaidal Cain. Does anyone know for a fact how much time has passed since Brigitte was dragged into the real world? Olver would have to be born at the time that Birgette came into being not before, therefore Gaidal Emerged as an infant, hence the conclusion that Olver is too old.
