Why were they killed?

📁 Halima's Plans 👤 Rand-althor 📅 2003-07-09 💬 7 replies
Here is an idea that I had just a munite ago.
The 2 Rebel Aes Sedai that were killed. We know that Halima did it, but we have no idea why.
What if Halima heard about the plan to ally with the BT, which is not unlikely seeing as the hall was discusing it without a ward around them, and with other AS all around, and realized that if this "alliance" succeded then it would cause big trouble for the DO at TG. So she decides that maybe if she kills of some sisters, they will think it was a man, and eventually maybe the alliance would be put to a halt.
Another possability is that she learned about the harbour plan, she killed one of the 2 people chosen for the plan, then she learned about Egwene being a dreamer, and killed of the other so nobody would believe her.

Probably both. Halima knows that the taint has been cleansed. If the Aes Sedai find out and believe it, they might more easily ally themselves with the BT. Through her actions, Halima is creating or encouraging the fear of Saidin and crazy male channelers, hoping to negate any plans or suggestions of an alliance. I am sure she knows about what was being discussed, along with the knowledge of Egwene's plans; one of the suggestions is that Egwene was captured by the Black Ajah, set up by Halima. Obviously, she probably didn't know that Egwene would go, but maybe Halima was pushing it that way...maybe Halima "suggested" it to Egwene during one of the "massage" sessions they have had.

Halima wouldn't like it if saidin channelers started hanging out with the rebels, as she already tried to have Logain killed ...

Youve hit the nail on the head. Halima receives all her information from Delena. As Delena was present at the meeting to ally the BT with the SAS, then Halima would most certainly know about it.

Also, we know that there are several sisters that can test for Saidin residue. Because Saidin was used to kill both sisters, then the blame immediately went to the Ashaman.

Of course Halima wouldn't like it. No one currently can sense her, a female, channeling saidin. That would be outstandingly weird for an Asha'man at first, but eventually someone would make the connection. Yeah, Halima's trying to rock the boat, but what else could we expect from an insane, reborn Forsaken?

and lets not forget... the greatest works are done by men and women working together. an alliance between logian (it would have to be his faction) and the aes sedai would be a very bad thing for the dark and would likely ruin all kinds of plans.

Both. Anything Halima can do to cause chaos she will do.

I wonder why, with all her connections, Halima isn't able to easily deal with this situation by just arranging for any asha'man who join the rebel camp to be darkfriends.
